Prem Shrestha, Head of IRD Office, Galchi, said action should be taken against such fraudsters since the office does not collect cash in the market. “We collect tax only through the bank according to the details of the transaction,” he said.

The arrested accused have told police that they took the money for the purpose of collecting the tax from small traders as shopkeepers live far away from the IRD office to pay tax.
