BHAKTAPUR, August 22: A preliminary investigation has revealed that a man created a bomb hoax to scare the people as he failed to pay back their money. According to the Metropolitan Police Office Bhaktapur, Nabin Tamang who lives in a guest house run by Shiva Sharan Bhuju at Madhyapur Thimi Municipality ward no. 4 kept the fake bomb. His permanent address is Kavrepalanchok Temal rural municipality ward no. 2, Dadaghau.
According to Deepak Giri, information officer of Metropolitan Police Office Bhaktapur, it has been revealed that the owner of the guest house repeatedly asked Tamang to pay Rupees 40,000. Therefore, to scare the guest house operator, Tamang made the hoax bomb as he did not have any money. The investigation revealed that Tamang stayed in room no. 110 of the guest house to sell the garlands of the Buddha’s painting. He used a pressure cooker brought from his home to make a hoax bomb and kept it in the guest house. Police have arrested Tamang on the charge of keeping the bomb.

An investigation team including Deputy Superintendent of Metropolitan Police Office Thimi, Narhari Regmi rushed to the spot after receiving information that a bomb had been found at the guest house to defuse the bomb. Police informed Republica that though explosives were not found, there were battery wires inside the cooker and it was plugged in.
Further investigation into the case is underway, according to the police.
