Unidentified groups torch motorcycle, vandalize school bus

KATHMANDU, March 16: An unidentified group on Thursday torched a motorcycle belonging to Padam Bista, ward 4 chairman of Navadurga Rural Municipality in Dadeldhura.

KATHMANDU, March 16: An unidentified group on Thursday torched a motorcycle belonging to Padam Bista, ward 4 chairman of Navadurga Rural Municipality in Dadeldhura. 


The ward office had purchased the motorcycle just a few days ago.


Police informed Republica that the motorcycle (Se 7 Pa 3690) was torched at around midnight. It was parked on the front yard of Bista's house.

Although various districts were affected by Netra Bikram Chand's general shutdown on Thursday, the rural municipality was unaffected. 


According to police there is no one in the ward associated with the Chand's party. 


Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Dambar Bahadur KC stated that police are searching for the perpetrators of the arson attack.


Meanwhile, a school bus (Ga 1 Kha 6638) belonging to Sahid Krishna Secondary School of Kawase, Tanahun was vandalized by an unknown group on Thursday evening. Bhul Prasad Bhandari, the principal of the school informed that the bus was parked at Talkhet in lack of sufficient parking space at the school.


"There was no space left for parking in the school due to the ongoing 'Mahayagya'. So, the bus was parked in Talkhet," said Principal Bhandari. 


He has demanded strong action against the perpetrators.
