KATHMANDU, August 2: The COVID-19 vaccination campaign has resumed in Tokha municipality in Kathmandu. The campaign was halted after Basanta Gaire, Family Planning Supervisor Inspector of Grande International Hospital in Dhapasi Municipality, was assaulted on July 31 by those seeking COVID-19 vaccines.
According to the municipality officials, the vaccination campaign has resumed from Monday. The attackers, Ram Kaji Tapa and his group have been taken into custody and they have apologized to the health workers and police for their unruly behaviour, said Tokha Municipality Mayor Prakash Adhikari.
Campaign to control stray dogs
The municipality has announced plans to administer Vero Cell vaccines to citizens above the age of 50, teachers, professors, employees, and public transport drivers. Tokha Chadeshwari Primary Health Center, Grande International Hospital and Manohar Secondary School in Samakhusi have been designated as vaccine centers to administer vaccines to people who meet the criteria set by the municipality.
