BIRATNAGAR, May 21: Dilliram Upreti, the vice-chairman of Koshi Province Planning Commission, has taken the oath of office and secrecy.
Koshi Chief Minister Hikmat Kumar Karki administered the oath of office and secrecy to Upreti at the office of the Chief Minister and Council of Ministers on Sunday.
Addressing the swearing-in ceremony, Chief Minister Karki said that Koshi Province will be developed as a prosperous province with the help of all. He said that before Koshi Province, it was called province 1 and now, in terms of work, the cooperation of all is needed to make the province number one among the seven provinces in the country.

Chief Minister Karki said that due to the impact of the global economic recession, the budget of the province has decreased. He informed Republica that the budget of the next financial year of the province will focus on increasing local production, creating jobs and increasing the scope of taxes.
Dilliram Upreti, the newly appointed vice-chairman of the Koshi Province Planning Commission, said that for the economic development of the province, it is necessary to advance the policy of promoting small and cottage industries and encouraging economic activities.
Upreti expressed his commitment to strive to improve the economy of the province through discussions and cooperation with all government agencies, private sector and other stakeholders.
