KATHMANDU, Nov 9: Nepali Congress General Secretary Shashank Koirala has said that MCC will be passed by a majority in the parliament after holding discussion in parliament.

Koirala, who came to Sindhuli to express his grief over the death of Nepali Congress district president Ujjwal Prasad Baral, said that rumors that US troops would come to Nepal if the MCC is passed is nonsense.

“There are rumors that the U.S. army will come to Nepal after the MCC is passed. This is just nonsense," he said. “MCC compact remains within the constitution of Nepal and it will be passed by a two-thirds majority in the parliament. We will pass it.”

Similarly, he said that the disputes seen in the Supreme Court should be solved by Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher JBR himself. He also said that the general convention of the Nepali Congress would be held anyway as the party's existence would be in danger if the convention is further delayed.
