Women's football team honoured

BIRATNAGAR, June 30: The Biratnagar metropolis honored the women's football team of the metropolis for winning the Deputy Mayor Women's Football Tournament.


The team was honored with a cash prize by the metropolis. Biratnagar won the tournament defeating Bahrabise municipality by 4-1 in a penalty shoot-out in the final held at Halchowk-based APF ground in Kathmandu on Thursday.

Mayor of Biratnagar Bhim Parajuli presented a cash prize of Rs. 500,000 to the team. On the occasion, Mayor Parajuli also shared that the metropolis had made special provisions in its new policy and programme for the development of sports in the metropolis.


Likewise, Chief Administrative Officer Yekdev Adhikari shared that a special training camp was being organised for 50 men and women each in cricket and football.
