Writ petition filed at SC seeking ban on heavy-weight vehicles on BP Highway

KATHMANDU, Jun 4: A writ petition has been filed at the Supreme Court (SC) seeking a stay order on the decision recently taken by the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport to allow heavy vehicles to ply the BP Highway.


Advocate Kailash Raj Dahal on Tuesday filed a writ petition at the SC seeking mandamus on the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport’s decision to allow heavy-weight and cargo vehicles to ply the BP Highway arguing that this decision is against its own decision taken earlier.

Earlier, a meeting of the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport held on May 27 had decided to allow the heavy-weight vehicles including cargo vehicles to ply the BP Highway.


In the writ petition, Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport of Nepal has been mentioned as defendant.
