KATHMANDU, August 10: Dr Govinda KC's 11th fast-on-to death strike demanding substantial improvement in medical sector has already reached 18 days. The members of Facebook group known as Men’s Room Reloaded (MRR) is supporting the protest by staging a relay hunger strike at Maitighar Mandala.
“We are not a political group. This is not a political stunt. We are helping the noble cause Dr Govinda KC is protesting for. We are doing this for 30 Million people of Nepal.” said Bikram KC, the administrator of MRR staging relay hunger strike.
The hunger strike is carried on three different shifts, 6 AM to 1 PM, 1 PM to 7 PM and 7 PM to 7 AM. The members of Facebook group 'Darhi Gang' and 'Women's Room Reloaded' have also joined in for the cause. The involvement of youngsters supporting Dr Govinda KC has caught general people's eyes.
In the past, although the concerned authorities had pledged to address the genuine demands by inking the deal with Dr KC, after pressure from medical mafias the government has repeatedly failed to take necessary measures to address the demands.
