KATHMANDU, June 14: A total of 61 persons who were earlier diagnosed with the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) recovered and returned home in the last 24 hours, according to the Ministry of Health and population. Of them, 55 are males and six are females.
According to Dr Jageshwor Gautam, the spokesperson for the ministry, 12 patients--- nine males and three females --- were discharged from the Birgunj-based Narayani Hospital while a male patient returned home from Patan Hospital, Lalitpur after recovery.

Similarly, the Dharan-based BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences discharged three COVID-19 patients - a female and two males. Nine males recovered at the Rautahat, Gaur-based Nursing Institute while Dadeldhura District Hospital reported the recovery of five males in the last 24 hours, said Dr Gautam.
Likewise, one male patient each recovered from this fatal disease at Darchula and Doti district hospitals while six other males were discharged from the Seti Provincial Hospital, Dhangadi. Eight males each from Sahapurva Isolation Center and Khajura Cancer Hospital in Banke and six patients --- a female and five males — from the COVID-19 designated Hospital in Dang were among those recovered in the last 24 hours.
With this, the total number of discharged patients has jumped to 974 - 877 males and 97 females.
