KATHMANDU, March 29: The departmental team Tribhuvan Army Club and Golden Gate International College are set to vie for the first Kwiks Men’s Basketball League title as they won their respective playoff matches on Wednesday.
In the first playoff match, Army beat Himalayan Hounds 105-79, while Golden Gate defeated Bishal Milan Kendra 113-79 in the second match and set an exciting encounter in the final. Army won the first quarter 29-11, while it won the second 19-17.
Army makes winning start
Army won the third quarter 29-23, while the fourth ended in a 28-28 draw. Sadeesh Pradhan scored the highest 23, while man-of-the-match Aashish Basnet scored 22 for Army. In the second match, Golden Gate won the first quarter 29-20, while it wonderfully won the second 32-11. The third quarter ended in a 29-29 draw, while Golden Gate won the fourth 23-19. Man-of-the-match Bipendra Maharjan scored the highest 37 for Golden Gate.
