KATHMANDU, August 1: Private sector airline Buddha Air has started preparations for a 'cross city' flight based in Pokhara. Accordingly, direct flights from Pokhara to Nepalgunj will start from Sunday. The company had been planning to fly on this route from May 1, but was postponed due to the prohibitory order. Buddha had earlier planned to start flights from Pokhara to Biratnagar and Simara from May.

According to Gautam Baral, Pokhara-based station manager of Buddha Air, the airline will fly Pokhara-Nepalgunj-Pokhara sector three days a week (Sunday, Wednesday and Friday) in the first phase. He also informed that there is a plan to operate more than one flight daily or seven days a week if passengers demand such flights.
According to Baral, the flight will leave Pokhara for Nepalgunj at 9:10AM. There will be a flight from Nepalgunj to Pokhara at 10AM. He said that in the first phase, Beechcraft 1900D series aircraft with a capacity of 18 seats will fly in the route. Pokhara-Nepalgunj flight is 35 minutes. There are three types of fare- Rs 7,635, Rs 5,535 and Rs 4,935.
