KATHMANDU, July 1: New cases of COVID-19 are gradually increasing in recent days as the government has eased the prohibitory orders to some extent.
Nepal recorded 2,760 new cases of COVID-19 on Thursday, according to the latest data released by the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP). The number was 2,892 on Wednesday, 2,636 on Tuesday, 2,444 on Monday, 1,920 on Sunday, 2,016 on Saturday and 2,476 on Friday.

The health ministry also recorded 33 deaths and 4,017 recoveries on the same day.
As many as 10,985 COVID-19 tests were conducted on Thursday. There are currently 28, 374 COVID-19 patients in home isolation, 2,994 in institutional isolation, 629 in ICUs and 181 on ventilators as of Thursday afternoon.
So far, 676,509 people have contracted the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19), 601,494 have recovered and 9,145 died in Nepal.
Likewise, the Kathmandu Valley recorded 419 new cases of COVID-19 on Thursday. Of them, 316 were detected in Kathmandu, 29 in Bhaktapur and 74 in Lalitpur districts. There are currently 5,011 active cases of COVID-19 in Kathmandu, 1,395 in Bhaktapur and 1,948 in Lalitpur.
