KATHMANDU, Nov 1: Dr Govinda KC has demanded stern and quick action against the culprits of the controversial MBBS entrance test in which some students used modern technological devices to cheat.

Issuing a statement on Tuesday, Dr KC said that the report of the probe into the matter should be published immediately and action should be taken against the culprits. “It is a serious issue which can affect the health of people and education of hundreds of students,” he said.

The Office of IOM Dean has already suspended the results of the controversial entrance exams held on October 14. “We suspect that they are delaying to publicize the probe report to serve the interests of medical mafia,” said Dr KC. “Instead of taking action against the culprits, we are blamed for baseless points,” he said, warning the authorities not to protect the mafias.

In the entrance exams, examinees were unethically provided the answers through an electronic device. The police arrested about three dozen people including students and outsiders on charge of unethical practice by using modern technology. The investigation into the case is underway.

According to a statement issued by the IOM on October 17, the entrance exams of eight students who used fake examinees by changing photographs in the admit cards have been canceled.
