KHOTANG, Jan 21: A girl was killed on the spot and two others injured in a tractor accident last night.
The ill-fated tractor (Na 4 Cha 5367) met with the accident at Meghechautara in Diktel Municipality – 11 killing eight – year – old Asha Tamang of the same locality.
Two and a half years old, Ashish Tamang, and assistant driver, Dinesh Rai, 25, of Chyamistar were seriously injured in the mishap.
Tractor driver, Ranjan Rai, 19, of Diktel Municipality – 10 fled the scene following the incident, police said.
The tractor, which was returning from Lafyang after unloading stones, had fallen at least 10 meters below the road while negotiating a sharp turn. The locals and police retrieved the three including the deceased from underneath the tractor.
