Helambu Rural Municipality rescues its people from Kathmandu (with photos)

HELAMBU, April 28: Helambu Rural Municipality has rescued more than 800 peoples stranded in Kathmandu during the lockdown.

HELAMBU, April 28: Helambu Rural Municipality has rescued more than 800 peoples stranded in Kathmandu during the lockdown.


According to Mingmar Lama, the ward chairperson of Helambu Rural Municipality-1, the municipality arranged transportation and accommodation to those willing to return home.

The rescued individuals have been instructed to stay in home quarantine and maintain social distance under the supervision of the Village Health Security Committee, according to Nima Gyalzen Sherpa, the chairperson of the Rural municipality.


All the rescued peoples underwent a medical check-up at the Rural municipality’s entry points, and none of them showed the symptoms of COVID-19.


No cases of COVID-19 have been reported in Helambu yet.
