Indian Army ex-servicemen's district board set up in Myagdi

MYAGDI, June  June 11: The District Army Board office has been set up in Beni, the headquarters of Myagdi district, for the convenience of the retired Indian Army servicemen from the district.


Defence attaché of the government of India, Col Avanish Chambiyal, inaugurated the office on Monday.

On the occasion, Col Chambiyal congratulated the retired Indian Army personnel in the district for establishing the district board and expressed his best wishes. He said that the district army board has been established in Myagdi as per the agreement between Nepal and India and taking into account the need and demand of the people of Myagdi.


The Indian military attaché said that the Indian Army ex-servicemen from the district would be greatly benefited with the establishment of the army board office in the district as they can avail of all the services from the office.


He said both countries have been enjoying cordial relations in the cultural, religious and political realms from ancient time, adding that the Government of India was ready to provide any support for addressing any problem faced by the Indian Army retired personnel in Nepal.


Chief District Officer of Myagdi, Liladhar Adhikari expressed the belief that the establishment of the Indian Army Board Office here would provide much support to the Indian Army ex-servicemen in the district.


Myagdi district ex-servicemen welfare service centre president, Capt Min Bahadur Karki said they were successful to establish the board office after a long struggle of 16 years. There are more than 5,000 Indian Army ex-servicemen in Myagdi.
