All eight districts in Province 2 are under lockdown amid worsening COVID-19 situation
KATHMANDU, Aug 25: Most districts across the country are under the prohibitory orders enforced by the district administration offices (DAOs) as the cases of novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) have kept on surging constantly following the government’s decision to lift the four-month long nationwide lockdown.

As of Tuesday, 52 of the 77 districts have imposed lockdown --- 38 districts are under complete lockdown while 14 have enforced lockdown in particular areas where there is a high risk of infection.
DAOs of all eight districts in Province 2 have enforced lockdown orders. Most of them have already extended the lockdown period as the COVID-19 situation in these districts has worsened in recent days. Ten districts each in Bagmati and Province 5 have also imposed prohibitory orders in an attempt to curb the further spread of this viral infection. Similarly, seven districts each in Province 1 and Karnali Province, six in Gandaki and four in Sudur Paschim provinces are under the prohibitory order as of Tuesday.
Provincial and local governments are reportedly busy preparing isolation and quarantine facilities in view of the growing risk of COVID-19.
As many as 160 people have so far succumbed to this disease of the 31,636 who have contracted the virus. Similarly, 18,690 have already been discharged after recovery.
