BIRENDRANAGAR, July 31: A committee has been formed to amend the rules of the Karnali Province Assembly.


Parliamentarian Hikmat Bahadur Bista submitted a proposal for the amendment committee in the Provincial Assembly meeting held on Sunday. CPN-UML MP Tekraj Pachhai supported the committee proposed by Nepali Congress whip Amrita Shahi.

The committee has been formed as there is a need to amend the rules of the province assembly from time to time. The committee will complete its duties within three months. According to rule 236, the members of the committee formed according to sub-rule 3 are Kalyani Khadka, Tekraj Pachai, Devendra Bahadur Shahi, Purna Bahadur Khatri, Mahendra KC, Ransingh Pariyar, Binod Kumar Shah, Santoshi Shahi and Hikmat Bahadur Bista.


Speaker of the provincial assembly, Nanda Gurung announced that the presented proposal was approved by the majority of members of the provincial assembly.
