Kathmandu Valley records highest single day spike of 134 new cases of COVID-19

KATHMANDU, Aug 11: The Kathmandu Valley has witnessed the highest single day spike of 134 new cases of coronavirus on Monday.

KATHMANDU, Aug 11: The Kathmandu Valley has witnessed the highest single day spike of 134 new cases of coronavirus on Monday.


According to the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP), 110 new cases were detected in Kathmandu district alone.

Likewise, Bhaktapur and Lalitpur districts recorded eight and 15 new cases of COVID-19 respectively.


The MoHP also confirmed 638 new cases of COVID-19 across the country through 10,462 Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) tests in the last 24 hours.


In the past five days, the Kathmandu Valley recorded 525 new cases of COVID-19. The valley witnessed 87 new cases on Thursday, 106 on Friday, 62 on Saturday, 92 on Sunday and 44 on Monday.
