Kathmandu Valley records highest single day spike of 138 new COVID-19 cases

KATHMANDU, Aug 12: As many as 138 new cases of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) were detected in Kathmandu Valley on Wednesday alone.

KATHMANDU, Aug 12: As many as 138 new cases of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) were detected in Kathmandu Valley on Wednesday alone.

According to Dr Jageshwar Gautam, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP), a total of 109 new cases were detected in Kathmandu district alone.


Likewise, Bhaktapur and Lalitpur district recorded eight and 21 new cases, respectively.


On Tuesday, 110 cases in Kathmandu, eight in Bhaktapur and 16 in Lalitpur  were detected. 


The MoHP also confirmed 484 new cases and eight more COVID-19 related deaths across the country in the past 24 hours.
