Kathmandu Valley's temperature drops to 2.5 degrees Celsius

KATHMANDU, Jan 27: People across the country have been experiencing chilling cold though the winter rainfall has not taken place. 


The minimum temperature of the Kathmandu Valley has dropped to 2.5 degrees, making it the lowest recorded temperature so far this year, according to Meteorological Forecasting Division.

Senior Meteorologist Min Kumar Aryal said the minimum temperature of the Kathmandu Valley was recorded 2.9 degrees Celsius around 5:00 am this morning and dropped to 2.5 degrees Celsius at 8:45 am.


The minimum temperature was 3 degrees Celsius two days ago. The temperature of Jumla was recorded minus 5.3 degrees Celsius and minus 5.5 degrees Celsius in Jomsom of Mustang, added Aryal.


Weather of hilly areas of Gandaki, Koshi and Bagmati Provinces is partly cloudy while there is thick fog in Tarai, shared the senior Meteorologist.
