Minimum temperature in Kathmandu drops to 4.8 degrees Celsius, temperature likely to drop further

KATHMANDU, Dec 21: The minimum temperature till 5:45 this morning was measured at 4.8 degrees Celsius in Kathmandu. This is the lowest temperature recorded in Kathmandu so far this year, according to the Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD).

KATHMANDU, Dec 21:  The minimum temperature till 5:45 this morning was measured at 4.8 degrees Celsius in Kathmandu. This is the lowest temperature recorded in Kathmandu so far this year, according to the Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD).


On Wednesday, the minimum temperature in Kathmandu was recorded at 5 degrees Celsius.

Meteorologist Sanjeev Adhikari of the Meteorological Forecasting Division of the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology said, "The minimum temperature has been measured at 4.8 degrees Celsius since last night till 7 am today." In the case of Kathmandu, this is the lowest record so far this year.


Adhikari said that the temperature in Kathmandu is likely to drop further. It is estimated that the temperature may decrease further. Our next official record will be released at 9 PM,” said Adhikari


As the temperature is decreasing all over the country, the department has suggested measures to avoid the cold.


According to Adhikari, the weather is likely to remain normal for the next three days. In one or two places in Central and West Terai, there is fog and fog this morning. As the sun rises, it will gradually disappear.


There is also a light breeze in Kathmandu. Visibility at Tribhuvan International Airport is up to four kilometers.
