Mayor Shah stated, "In our commitment to ensure that no resident of our city suffers untimely loss of life due to a lack of blood for emergency or medical treatments, we have partnered with the Nepal Red Cross Society. Starting from 2080/06/22, we are launching a blood transfusion service, enabling all Kathmandu Metropolitan City residents to access free blood while receiving medical care at any hospital."

To avail this service, residents are required to contact the Nepal Red Cross Society Central Office and provide necessary documents, such as citizenship, immigration records, or real estate tax payment documents, confirming their residency within Kathmandu Metropolitan City. This initiative aims to enhance healthcare accessibility and safeguard the well-being of the city's inhabitants during critical medical situations.
