KATHMANDU, August 18: Nepali Congress (NC) lawmaker Min Bahadur Bishwakarma has asked the main opposition UML not to politicize the Citizenship Bill brought by the government on the basis of national consensus.
Stating that there is no reason for anyone to disagree with the bill brought by the government based on the Constitution of Nepal 2015, the interim constitution of 2007 and the ordinance brought by the government led by KP Oli, he appealed to all parliamentarians to pass it unanimously. Participating in the discussion on the bill in the House of Representatives meeting on Thursday, MP Bishwakarma repeatedly said that there was no need to delay the passage of the bill, which aims to grant citizenship to millions of Nepalis deprived of citizenship.
