Nepal imports smart watches worth Rs 330 million in the first 10 months of current FY

KATHMANDU, May 26: Smart watches worth over Rs 330 million have entered Nepal in the first 10 months of the current fiscal year 2022/23 (from mid-July 2022 to mid-April 2023).

KATHMANDU, May 26: Smart watches worth over Rs 330 million have entered Nepal in the first 10 months of the current fiscal year 2022/23 (from mid-July 2022 to mid-April 2023).


According to the data released by the Department of Customs, a total of 249,000 smart-watches worth Rs 336.5 million entered Nepal in a period of ten months. The government has collected the revenue of 104.5 million rupees from the import of these smart-watches.

The data of the Department of Customs states that the maximum number of 225,000 smart-watches has been imported from China during this period. Similarly, 22,800 smart-phones have arrived from India and 785 smart-phones from Vietnam.


In Nepal, smart-watches are imported from 25 countries including China, India, Vietnam, Canada, Japan, Germany, Sri-Lanka.
