Almost half the new cases recorded across the country were detected in the Kathmandu Valley alone


KATHMANDU, June 18: Nepal recorded 1,603 new cases, 2,552 recoveries and 27 deaths on Sunday.

According to the latest data from the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP), 4,876 PCR tests and 3,256 antigen tests were conducted on Sunday. Of them, 1,042 PCR tests and 561 antigen tests turned out to be positive for COVID-19. With this, Nepal’s COVID-19 casetally has surged to 682,739 including 690,218 recoveries and 9,225 deaths.


There are currently 23,228 COVID-19 patients in home isolation, 2,951 in institutional isolation, 608 in ICUs and 181 on ventilators.


The Kathmandu Valley recorded 461 new cases of COVID-19 on Sunday. Of them, 342 were detected in Kathmandu, 31 in Bhaktapur and 86 in Lalitpur districts.
