KATHMANDU, August 1: As many as 12,636 tests were conducted on Sunday and of them 2,568 tested positive for the COVID-19 infection, according to the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP).
Nepal recorded 2,568 new cases of COVID-19 alongwith 2,020 recoveries and 18 deaths due to COVID-19 on Sunday.

With this, Nepal’s COVID-19 casetally has reached 759,307 including 656,197 recoveries and 9,875 deaths.
As many as 8,402 PCR tests and 4,234 antigen tests were conducted on Sunday, according to the health ministry. Of them, 1,981 PCR and 587 antigen tests turned out to be positive for COVID-19.
Likewise, the Kathmandu Valley recorded 848 new cases of COVID-19 on the same day. Of them, 591 were detected in Kathmandu, 91 in Bhaktapur and 166 in Lalitpur districts.
There are currently 28,063 COVID-19 patients in home isolation, 3,235 in institutional isolation, 169 on ventilators and 677 in ICUs across the country as of Sunday afternoon.
