KATHMANDU, Dec 16: Nepal has recorded 736 new cases, 847 recoveries and 13 deaths linked with the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in the past one day.
Altogether 736 new cases of COVID-19 were detected in the past 24 hours while conducting 5,555 PCR tests at various labs across the country, according to Jageshwar Gautam, spokesperson for the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP).

With 736 new cases, the country's COVID-19 tally crossed 250,000 mark, on Wednesday. According to the MoHP, 250,916 cases of coronavirus have been recorded in Nepal as of today.
The country has now a total of 9,757 active cases of the coronavirus. Eight hundred forty seven patients recovered from the viral disease in the past one day.
As many as 238,569 people who earlier tested positive for the virus have recovered as of Wednesday.
Altogether, 1,743 people, including 13 in the past one day, have succumbed to COVID-19 across Nepal so far, Spokesperson Gautam said.
