2,979 new cases, 1,333 recoveries and 28 deaths due to COVID-19 recorded on Wednesday
KATHMANDU, July 7: The Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) has maintained that the number of new COVID-19 cases in the country have decreased by almost 10 percent compared to the last week.

“Even if the number of new cases is declining, the risk of transmission is still very high,” said Dr Krishna Prasad Paudel, spokesperson for MoHP, during a virtual COVID-19 press briefing of the ministry.
Nepal recorded 2,979 new cases, 1,333 recoveries and 28 deaths due to COVID-19 on Wednesday. With this, Nepal’s COVID-19 case tally has reached 690,974 including 614,327 recoveries and 9,291 deaths.
Only 7,835 PCR tests and 4,063 antigen tests were conducted on Wednesday, according to the latest data of MoHP.
Similarly, the Kathmandu Valley recorded 543 new cases on Wednesday. Of them, 390 were recorded in Kathmandu, 86 in Lalitpur and 67 in Bhaktapur districts.
