KATHMANDU, May 16: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) on Thursday increased marginally by 0.79 points to close at 2,018.76 points.
The secondary market opened at 2,017.97 points and dropped to the day’s low at 2,009.4 points in the first 18 minutes. However, the market bounced back and reached 2,026.81 points in the midway of the trading period. In the remaining trading hours, the market went through a series of fluctuations.

The sensitive index that measures the performance of ‘A’ class companies increased by 0.27 points. The daily turnover increased to Rs 4.23 billion from Rs 3.70 billion on Wednesday.
Two groups including microfinance and ‘others’ were the gainers, with the microfinance group adding the highest of 166.33 points to its index. Of the 11 losers, non-life insurance witnessed the highest drop of 91.92 points in its index.
Among individual companies, 103 were recorded as gainers whereas 139 were the losers.
CEDB Hydropower Development Company Limited had the largest turnover of its shares worth Rs 810 million. Himalayan Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited was the topmost gainer; Mandu Hydropower Limited lost the highest of 5.76 percent of its market price.
