Nepse sheds 5.83 points, while daily turnover improves slightly to Rs 812.08 million on Wednesday

KATHMANDU, Nov 1: Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) on Wednesday declined 5.83 points to close at 1,858.56 points.


The secondary market opened at 1,864.40 points, fell to 1,858.3 points and surged to the day’s high at 1,872.2 points in the first hour of trading. The market however went to a straight fall in the next moment to hit the day’s low at 1,853.64 points in the last 12 minutes. The market recovered around five points before it closed for the day.

The sensitive index that measures the performance of blue chip companies also declined 0.83 points. The daily turnover marginally increased to Rs 812.08 million from Rs 571.48 million on Tuesday. 


Only the investment index added 0.05 points. The remaining 12 groups had their market prices declined in the intraday trading. Manufacturing and processing lost the highest of 48.54 points.


Among individual companies, the market values of 162 companies decreased whereas 68 companies posted gains in their indices.


Sonapur Minerals and Oil Limited had trading of its shares worth Rs 146.002 million and stood at the top of the transaction volume lists. The company was also the biggest loser with a decline of 7.99 percent in its market price. Sayapatri Hydropower Limited gained the highest of 9.39 percent of its market price.
