NHRC to provide Rs 20 million to PM COVID-19 Prevention and Contain Fund

KATHMANDU, March 31: National Human Rights Commission said today that it will provide Rs 20 million to the Prime Minister COVID-19 Prevention and Contain Fund.

KATHMANDU, March 31: National Human Rights Commission said today that it will provide Rs 20 million to the Prime Minister COVID-19 Prevention and Contain Fund.


The human rights body will be providing this amount to the government deducting from its annual budget. And for this, the NHRC is suspending some of its pre-scheduled programs, according to a press release.

In the press release, the NHRC extended support to the nationwide lockdown announced by the government while urging one and all to strictly follow it.


In addition to that, the NHRC also urged the government institutions, civil society, human rights activists, entrepreneurs and the private sector to join hands with the government in the country's battle against novel coronavirus.
