KATHMANDU, May 22: Nepal reported nine more cases of coronavirus disease on Friday evening, according to the Ministry of Health and Population.
The nine new cases include a 54-year-old male from Hetauda-3, Makwanpur, and a 42-year-old female from Bhaktapur-9 whose swab samples tested positive at the Kathmandu-based National Public Health Laboratory.
Similarly, a 35-year-old man of Balan Bihul Rural Municipality in Saptari district was also diagnosed with this disease at the Dharan-based BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences.

Bara, a Province 2 district, alone reported six new cases today. Six men (aged 22, 27, 30, 34, 38 and 45) contracted the virus. They are from Simrangadh Municipality of the district. Their tests were conducted at a Hetauda-based laboratory.
According to Dr Samir Kumar Adhikari, joint spokesperson for the ministry, their health condition is normal and they all are in regular contact with medics.
Earlier today, the ministry confirmed 50 other cases of this deadly disease.
As of Friday evening, the virus has claimed three lives in Nepal while 70 patients have already recovered and returned home.
