Similarly, Indra Bahadur Angbo, Parliamentary party member of CPN (Maoist Center) also maintained that the opposition parties are involved in discussion and preparation of filing the no-confidence motion. They have agreed to form a new government under the leadership of NC.

Earlier on December 27, lawmakers of erstwhile Nepal Communist Party (NCP) had filed a no-confidence motion against CM Rai. CM Rai had survived after the Supreme Court revived erstwhile CPN-UML and CPN (Maoist center).

Of 93 provincial assembly members, 51 belong to the CPN-UML, 21 belong to the NC and 15 others belong to the CPN (Maoist center). Likewise, JSP and Federal Democratic Forum (Sanghiya Loktantrik Manch) have 3 and 1 lawmakers, respectively.

Oppositions require 46 votes for the majority.
