Policeman assaults TIA Immigration Office Chief Hamal

KATHMANDU, Jan 26: Gogan Hamal, the head of the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) Immigration Office, was assaulted by a policeman stationed at the airport.

KATHMANDU, Jan 26: Gogan Hamal, the head of the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) Immigration Office, was assaulted by a policeman stationed at the airport.


On Friday morning, when Hamal raised a question about the manhandling of an immigration officer, Chhaya Lal Moktan, the policemen manhandled Hamal himself.

Prem Prasad Dahal, information officer of the Immigration Department, said that Hamal and Moktan were manhandled by the police and discussions are currently underway.


He said, “The policeman assaulted Officer Chhaya Lal Moktan. After that, Chief Hamal was also attacked. Now the same topic is being discussed.”


The immigration department has already informed the police headquarters about this matter.
