LAHAN, Aug 26: Province 2 has reported 246 new cases of coronavirus on Wednesday, taking the provincial COVID-19 tally to 9,427.
According to the Ministry of Social Development of Province 2, Parsa district alone recorded 54 new cases of coronavirus. With this, the coronavirus tally in Parsa stands at 2,057. Parsa is the worst-hit district in Province 2.
Bara witnessed 53 new cases of coronavirus, taking the coronavirus tally in the district to 776.

Rautahat's coronavirus tally climbed to 1603 with 13 new cases detected on Wednesday. Sarlahi reported 71 new cases of coronavirus, taking the COVID-19 tally in the district to 1,351. Mahottari's COVID-19 tally jumped to 1,155 as 20 more people diagnosed with coronavirus on Wednesday.
33 persons tested positive for COVID-19 in Dhanusha, taking the number of coronavirus infections in the district to 1,342.
Likewise, Siraha also recorded two new cases of coronavirus on Wednesday. With this, the coronavirus tally in the district reached 390. Saptari is the only district in Province 2 which has not witnessed any case of coronavirus today. The total number of coronavirus infections in Saptari stands at 747. There are currently 4,924 active cases of coronavirus in Province 2.
On Wednesday, 128 COVID-19 infected patients were discharged after full recovery in Province 2. "As of today, 4,439 persons who earlier tested positive for the virus have been discharged after recovery in Province 2," the Social Development Ministry of Province 2 stated. The coronavirus-related death toll in the province rose to 64 on Wednesday.
