KATHMANDU, June 21: Kathmandu based ride sharing platforms will be resuming their service that have remained closed for almost two months following the government’s prohibitory orders nearly two months ago. The ride-sharing services are resuming their services from Tuesday as the local administrations in Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur announced to relax some prohibitory measures.
On Sunday, the three district administration offices in the Kathmandu Valley decided to extend the ongoing prohibitory orders by a week bringing changes in the modality of restrictions in different service-oriented businesses. They have decided to allow operating a number of transport services on the basis of odd-even registration numbers.

Shikshit Bhatta, chief executive officer of Tootle, told Republica that they will be continuing their services from Tuesday abiding with the government rules. “We have managed to fully implement safety protocols that include the use of sanitizers and masks to provide our services,” Bhatta said.
Tootle has a total of 85,000 rider givers and partners. According to Bhatta, they had to face huge financial strain since the government enforced prohibitory orders in the Valley from April 29.
Similarly, Pathao is also resuming its services from Tuesday. An official of Pathao said they will be strictly following the odd and even rules and place the limit on maximum number of passengers they can carry as per the government’s instructions.
