A single bench of Justice Bishwombhar Prasad Shrestha issued such an order not to implement the decision of the Office of the Returning Officer taken on October 11 to cancel Gurung's candidacy.

The SC in its interlocutory interim order asked the Office of the Returning Officer to present the reason in writing for canceling the candidacy of Gurung and has summoned the both sides (writ petitioner and defendant) to be present on the Court on October 19 for discussion on the case.

Candidate of the CPN (Unified Socialist) Gurung had filed a writ petition in the SC last Thursday against the cancellation of his candidacy.

The Office of the Returning Officer had decided to cancel the candidacy of Gurung following the complaint registered against Gurung that he was indicted in a banking fraud by the court.
