KATHMANDU, April 16: The meetings of seven parliamentary committees are scheduled to convene simultaneously today. The International Relations and Tourism Committee meeting will be held at 10:30AM.
During this meeting, the Committee will delve into several pertinent topics, including recent foreign visits by Government of Nepal officials (at the ministerial level) along with their objectives and achievements. Additionally, discussions will revolve around the current situation of Nepalis residing in Israel, Russia, and Ukraine, as well as the status, challenges, and aspects for improvement of Nepali missions abroad.
Three parliamentary committees meeting today
Similarly, a meeting of the Agriculture, Cooperative and Natural Resources Committee will be held at 11AM. In the meeting, there is an agenda to discuss with the Minister/Secretary of the Ministry of Forestry and Environment and the departmental heads of related departments, the Secretary of the Ministry of Finance and related stakeholders regarding the compensation of Bhanubhakta Zoological Garden, the policy and legal complications of herbal study and research, and the problems related to fire and elephant menace.
Similarly, in the Finance Committee meeting at 11AM, there will be discussions regarding the implementation of the budget of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology. A discussion will be held with the National Indigenous Women's Forum at the meeting of the Women and Social Affairs Committee, which will be held at 11AM.
Similarly, in the meeting of the Development, Economic Affairs and Good Governance Committee to be held at 12:30PM, there will be a pre-budget discussion regarding the upcoming budget 2024/25. Similarly, the Legislative Management Committee will initiate a committee-wide discussion at 1:00PM.
Furthermore, the Parliamentary Hearing Committee will conduct a parliamentary hearing of the proposed Auditor General, starting at 11:30 AM.
