KATHMANDU, April 8: Sher Bahadur Memorial Foundation has signed a contract with Muktinath Development Bank to reward the winner of the fifth KNP National Women’s Volleyball Tournament.
The foundation’s patron Gamali Khadka and the bank’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Pradhunna Pokharel signed on the agreement amid a press meet organized in Kathmandu on Sunday.
According to the agreement, the bank will be providing the winner of the tournament with Rs 200,000.
“We are excited to be connected with Nepal’s national game volleyball through this tournament to be organized by the Sher Bahadur Foundation,” Pokharel said, “We will give this agreement continuity in the coming days.”

Six popular volleyball teams will take part in the tournament, organized with special assistance from the National Sports Council (NSC) and technical help from the Nepal Volleyball Association (NVA). The teams taking part are the defending champion and departmental team Armed Police Club; the other departmental side Tribhuvan Army Club; losing finalist of the last edition New Diamond Academy; Western Region; and Jawalakhel Volleyball Training Center.
The tournament will run from April 27 to 30. The runner-up of the tournament will bag a cash prize of Rs 150,000, while the third-placed team will receive Rs 50,000.
Earlier, Durbarmarg’s The Regal Inc had announced to reward the members of the winning team with 16 pairs of suit pieces worth a total of Rs 456,000.
The president of the foundation, Ranjan Khadka, said that the role of the corporate sector was very important in the development of Nepali sports.
Likewise, the best player of the tournament will receive Rs 15,000 along with the foundation’s special award. Also, the best spiker, the best setter, the best blocker, the best defender, the best kicker, the best server and the best coach will be provided Rs 7,000 each. The man of the match will get Rs 5,000 in each match.
