Shops fined Rs 200 thousand for charging more for salt

KATHMANDU, April 24: The Department of Commerce, Supplies and Consumer Protection has fined the Katuwal Stores at Imadol Rs 200 thousand for selling salt to consumers for higher price than the declared price.

KATHMANDU, April 24: The Department of Commerce, Supplies and Consumer Protection has fined the Katuwal Stores at Imadol Rs 200 thousand for selling salt to consumers for higher price than the declared price.

A market monitoring team from the Department had found the Stores was charging more to consumers for salt and slapped the fine on it as per the Consumer Protection Act, 2075.


Likewise, the Department has fined Rs 50 thousand each to the Rajendra Meat Shop at Gyaneshwor, and the Mukesh Juice and Fruit Shop and Babulal Fruits and Vegetables Shop at Imadol.
