The government has been under fire for its failure to arrest the culprit involved in the heinous crime committed against Panta, a 13-year-old girl who had been murdered in cold blood after rape in Kanchanpur on July 27.

Various individuals and organizations have been staging protests to pile pressure on the government to bring the culprit to book at the earliest.

The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police yesterday took a suspect into custody and released other six individuals after arrest in the course of investigation into the Nirmala case.
