Teen from Jhapa arrested in cyber crime case

JHAPA, Nov 17:  Binod Thapa of Jhapa, Kamal Rural Municipality-1, has been arrested by the police on the charge of misusing social media by creating a fake Facebook ID.


According to District Police Office DSP Khagendra Prasad Rijal, Thapa was arrested three days ago and an investigation was started on the basis of a complaint that he had carried out many illegal activities through a fake Facebook ID. According to him, it is said that Thapa, who is facing a case related to cyber crime at the Jhiljhile area police office, is also the chairman of the children's network. The police have not given detailed information about his fake Facebook ID.

Earlier today, a police team from Damak and Gauradah area police office, arrested 15 individuals for gambling in Gauradah, Jhapa. The arrest, which included Yuvraj Khadka, occurred at 3 AM following information provided by an informant present at Khadka's residence in Gauradah-3. The confiscated items included Rs 135,920 in cash and 16 packs of Kauda.


DSP Rijal said that all those arrested were brought to the Damak area police office and further investigation had been started.
