MORANG, Feb 26: Police have arrested three youths who came through the Jogbani border crossing in Biratnagar with brown sugar. They were arrested with the drugs on Monday morning from Biratnagar Metropolitan City-13.
Dipesh Singh Thakuri, 21, of Biratnagar-14, Sejan Rai, 20, of Biratnagar-15 and Shivam Thapa Magar, 19, of Biratnagar-17 were arrested with brown sugar, according to Morang police spokesperson DSP Ranjan Kumar Dahal.
Two youths arrested on charge smuggling drugs
According to him, brown sugar was recovered from Jogbani on the city safari (Province 1-001 Ha 1783) when it was checked for suspicion. The police recovered 14.40 grams of brown sugar from them.
DSP Dahal said, "We have started further investigation by keeping the three people at the local police office, Rani." Those arrested will be prosecuted under the Narcotics Act.
According to the police, preliminary investigations revealed that the arrested individuals were involved in the distribution of brown sugar, selling it in various locations across Nepal from Jogbani.
