Traffic police took action against 2,200 riders in last 24 hrs in Kathmandu

KATHMANDU, July 5: The traffic police have taken action against more than 2200 riders for violating the traffic rules in various places of Kathmandu.

KATHMANDU, July 5: The traffic police have taken action against more than 2200 riders for violating the traffic rules in various places of Kathmandu.


In the last 24 hours, action was taken against as many as 2,203 vehicles along with the drivers for violating traffic rules in the Kathmandu Valley, said Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Rajendra Prasad Bhatta, spokesperson for the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office.

According to him, 69 motorists were punished for speeding, 120 for lane violation, 73 for red light entry and 28 for loud horn.


Similarly, 21 riders were punished for not keeping clearly visible number plates, 147 for riding at high speed and 1,745 others for various violations, making a total of 2,203 riders.
