UML wins in ward 2 of Dharan

DHARAN, May 14: CPN-UML has won the chairmanship of ward 2 in Dharan sub-metropolitan city.

DHARAN, May 14: CPN-UML has won the chairmanship of ward 2 in Dharan sub-metropolitan city.


UML candidate Ramesh Rai won the post of chairman of ward 2. He defeated his nearest rival Nepali Congress (NC) candidate Sudhir Singh Limbu by 121 votes. While Rai got 748 votes, his rival Limbu got only 627 votes.

Similarly, UML has also won the chairmanship and the post of member under the open category in ward 2. Samir Rai from UML won the post of member with 660 votes while his nearest rival Ajay Rai of NC got 655 votes.


Likewise, Bunu Shankar has won from NC by receiving 680 votes in the Dalit women's open category. Sandhya Shrestha and Dinesh Agrawal from NC have won with 684 and 691 votes respectively. Earlier, in the local level election of 2017, the whole panel of NC had won in Ward 2.
