With 315 new cases of coronavirus today, Nepal's COVID-19 tally surpasses 20,000-mark

KATHMANDU, Aug 1: The Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) has confirmed 315 new cases of COVID-19 in past 24 hours, taking the country's COVID-19 tally to 20,086.

 KATHMANDU, Aug 1: The Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) has confirmed 315 new cases of COVID-19 in past 24 hours, taking the country's COVID-19 tally to 20,086.


 According to Dr Jageshwar Gautam, spokesperson for the ministry, 315 new cases were detected across the country through 6,993 Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) tests conducted in various laboratories across the country.

Similarly, 93 people who earlier tested positive for the COVID-19 have recovered and returned home on Saturday. There are 5,338 active cases of coronavirus in various isolation centers.  So far 14,492 COVID-19 patients have recovered.


As of Saturday, there are 225 active cases of COVID-19 in Province 1, 2,022 in Province 2, 575 in Bagmati Province, 313 in Gandaki Province, 387 in Province 5, 297 in Karnali Province and 1, 675 in Sudurpaschim Province. Likewise, as many as 11,533 individuals are staying in various quarantine facilities.
