Hospital, eight shops damaged in fire in Dhangadhi

DHANGADI, Nov 18: An electrical short circuit triggered a fire in Dhangadhi, causing damage to multiple businesses, including Sarathi Hospital.


According to the police, a fire broke out at around 1 AM on Friday in the building of Sarathi Hospital and other shops in the main market of Dhangadhi.

Kailali police chief, Superintendent of Police (SP) Devendra Pal, said that businesses like Sarathi Hospital and Bhandari Shoes Center suffered damage due to the electrical short circuit. The fire originated suddenly at the shoe center operated by local Dal Bahadur Bhandari.


Stating that there was a sudden fire at the shoe center operated by local Dal Bahadur Bhandari, SP Pal said that the fire was brought under control with the help of four fire engines from Dhangadhi, Godawari and Purnawas municipalities.


To control the fire, along with District Police Office Kailali, teams of Teghari Barracks of Nepali Army and Armed Police Force Battalion 34 in Kailali were mobilized.


Police said that the precise details of the extent of the damage are yet to be ascertained.
