Two Nepali students die in road accident in Australia


Two Nepali students died and three others sustained injuries in a road accident in Australia on Sunday morning. Nepal's acting ambassador to Australia Durpada Sapkota told Republica Online by phone that the accident occurred when a car they were travelling in crashed along the Monaro Highway near Cooma in southern New South Wales.


Gov't has given high priority to its trade, investment ties with India: PM Oli


Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said that the government has given a high priority to its trade and investment relations with India. Inaugurating a two-day India-Nepal Logistics Summit that began in Kathmandu on Sunday, the prime minister called for the enhancement of economic and trade relations between the two countries.

NCP's crucial secretariat meeting deferred yet again


A secretariat meeting of the ruling Nepal Communist Party which was scheduled to take place today afternoon has been deferred for tomorrow. The meeting was expected to find out a solution for power-sharing in the party’s various departments as multiple party leaders have staked their claims to certain posts.


NC CCMs press for party's early general convention


Central committee members of the main opposition Nepali Congress have demanded an early general convention to reinvigorate the party. During an ongoing Central Working Committee Meeting at the party headquarters, Sanepa, the NC central committee members exerted pressure on the party leadership to fix the dates for the party's 14th general convention as early as possible.


Nepal’s T20 World Cup dream shattered after losing to Singapore


Nepal national cricket team failed to book the spot in the ICC World T20 Qualifiers after losing a crucial match against Singapore played at the Indian Association Ground in Singapore on Sunday. Singapore defeated Nepal by 82 runs and they have now advanced to the global qualifiers scheduled to be held in October in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).


World powers meet Iran in Vienna to salvage nuclear deal


Representatives from Europe, China, and Russia, nations that are still committed to the Iran nuclear deal, plan to meet with Iran’s representative in Vienna on Sunday to discuss how to salvage the unraveling accord. The diplomats aim to examine issues linked to the implementation of the nuclear accord after Iran surpassed stockpile and enrichment limits set out in the deal.
